For Local monthly and annual plans

A computer ready to keep your desk running

These specifications apply to the computer hosting your Local desk around the clock. Your paired phone and a computer used only to access a VPS desk do not need this hardware. Local operation includes assisted setup and ongoing care as part of the required subscription.

Prelaunch planning specifications. The minimums below are our proposed support baseline. Local release validation is still in progress. Please have our care team confirm your exact computer and operating system before purchasing hardware or a Local plan.

Minimum configuration for review

Processor (CPU): A 64-bit Intel or AMD processor with at least 4 physical cores. Hardware virtualization must be available and enabled so the desk can run in its isolated software environment.
Memory (RAM): At least 16 GB installed, with 8 GB available for TDU and its supporting services. Other applications must leave that capacity available.
Storage: An internal solid-state drive (SSD) with at least 100 GB free at setup. Free space is needed for the application, updates, logs, journal and activity reports. History growth increases the space required.
Graphics (GPU): Integrated graphics are sufficient for the core desk and normal chart display. A dedicated graphics card or a particular amount of video memory is not a core requirement.
Software and access: An operating system and container runtime approved during setup, current security updates, and permission to install and maintain the required software.

Preferred configuration

Processor: A modern 8-core Intel or AMD processor in a dedicated desktop or mini PC with adequate cooling. Avoid sharing the host with demanding games, video rendering or other sustained workloads.
Memory: 32 GB RAM, leaving at least 16 GB available for the desk and its supporting services. This provides room for updates and ordinary background activity.
Storage: A 500 GB or larger NVMe SSD, with at least 200 GB free. Keep a separate backup destination for saved reports and recovery copies.
Graphics: Choose graphics hardware for your monitor count and resolution. Extra GPU power does not replace reliable CPU, memory, storage, power or internet service.
Connectivity and power: Wired Ethernet, a battery backup for the computer and network equipment, and a tested backup internet connection where practical.

Operating system compatibility

Linux: The current deployment uses Linux containers on an Intel/AMD x86-64 host. A maintained Ubuntu LTS installation is the first configuration for Local validation; the care team confirms the exact release and Docker Engine version.
Windows Local host: Plan for a currently serviced 64-bit Windows 11 release on Intel/AMD hardware, WSL version 2.1.5 or later, and a compatible Docker Desktop release running Linux containers. Hardware virtualization must be enabled in BIOS/UEFI. Setup may require administrator approval for Windows features and a restart. TDU-specific installation, automatic startup and recovery testing is still required before we confirm Windows Local support.
Apple Mac Local host: Docker Desktop requires a supported macOS release, generally the current major release or one of the previous two. TDU’s Local host must also match the architecture of its released desk image. Intel Mac hosting and Apple Silicon hosting have not completed TDU validation. Apple Silicon compatibility cannot be assumed from Docker availability alone. Please confirm your Mac model, chip, macOS version and available memory with the care team before purchase.
ARM hardware: Apple Silicon and Windows ARM computers are outside the currently verified Local host configurations. Do not rely on processor emulation for continuous monitoring unless that exact installation has passed our compatibility review.
Mac or Windows used only as a portal: Use an operating system still receiving vendor security updates and an up-to-date Safari, Chrome or Edge browser compatible with that system. The desk services run on your VPS, so this computer does not need Docker, WSL or Local-host hardware. Keep the browser’s required secure storage available for pairing and sign-in.
Desktop and phone releases: Download only the TDU build provided for your platform. The desktop setup flow authorizes the phone; installing a phone app alone does not grant desk access. Exact native-app OS minimums will be published with the signed releases after device validation.

Supporting software has its own requirements. See Docker’s Windows requirements and Mac requirements. Meeting those requirements alone does not establish TDU compatibility.

Required for continuous operation

Keep the host awake: It must remain powered on and connected. Disable automatic sleep and hibernation during desk operation. Turning off the display is fine. A laptop that sleeps when its lid closes interrupts the desk.
Keep a stable connection: Brokerage APIs, data feeds, subscription checks and remote phone access need working internet. Reliability matters more than a headline download speed. Your chosen data providers may impose additional bandwidth requirements.
Plan for outages: Test restart and recovery with the care team. TDU cannot monitor prices or move a trailing stop while the host, power or connection is unavailable. A broker-held stop remains subject to that brokerage’s order rules.
Maintain the computer: Keep security updates, cooling and storage in good condition. Coordinate restarts and maintenance while understanding their effect on active monitoring.
Protect your records: Save exports away from the host computer and confirm that backup files can be opened. A report saved only on the same drive is vulnerable to that drive failing.
Use the included care service: Assisted Local setup and ongoing care are bundled into both Local plans. Hardware, electricity, internet, third-party software fees and brokerage or data subscriptions are separate customer costs.

These specifications cover the core desk with provider-hosted research and AI connections. Running your own AI models, bulk market-data processing, backtests or strategy add-ons requires a separate workload review. No account count or trading-performance guarantee is implied by the hardware specification.

One connected desk: View supported brokerage accounts, holdings and activity in one place.
Desktop and phone access: Use both portals to access the same customer-hosted desk and its records.
Manual trading: Place your own trades through connected, supported brokerage APIs.
Protection you choose: Set supported loss limits and trailing protection when you authorize a trade. Stops cannot guarantee an execution price or prevent every loss.
Research and alerts: Follow Research Hub, Edgers reports, Messaging Center updates and Decision Center alerts.
Trade records: Review activity and keep a trading journal alongside your account information.

Brokerage and data-provider support varies by connection, account and asset type. Provider subscriptions and fees are separate. Strategy add-ons are separate products at $9 per month each and are not included in either plan.

From purchase
to your desk

Download TDU on your computer. Use the setup instructions and license information supplied after purchase.
Set up your desk. The VPS wizard guides server setup and brokerage/data connections. Local subscribers receive help setting up compatible always-on hardware.
Secure and pair. Set your password and PIN, then use the desktop pairing flow to authorize your phone. Both portals connect to the same desk.

All plans are charged at purchase and renew on the billing schedule you choose. There is no free trial. Canceling renewal leaves access in place through the time already paid for.

For both VPS and Local plans, a failed renewal gives you seven days to resolve payment. Reminders begin on day three and repeat every two days through the deadline. Please export your journal before the deadline. Afterward, desktop and phone access lock, and you manage your accounts directly with your brokerages. Existing protection remains enabled in the background until those protected trades close. Your desk and its connections must stay running.

Local setup and care are included in the Local subscription. VPS hosting is a separate bill paid to your provider. Your server or local hardware must stay running for TDU monitoring to continue.
